I wasn't sure I was trying when I first started this I just wanted to see how the multidimensional nature of the Internet could be applied to fiction and poetry. Rather than just writing in plain old flat file format, I wanted to write interactive stories where the users had control. I see story lines for hyper novels that converged in several directions; how the story unfolds is dictated by the reader. I have started writing this type of story, but it takes a long time. Trying to cover multiple points of view, and weave them together is no small task.

Until I have it, here is some poetry that uses unique properties of the Internet. Enjoy, and if you like what you see, drop me a line.

• Space - A poem about three heavenly bodies, and the space the reside in. I like the threefold nature of the work. I think Brin's Dolphins would like following the threads. (11/99)

• Julie's Amazing Javascript Poetry Page! - I started thinking about how Javascript could be used in hyperwriting. I took my friend Julie's Poetry and applied a Javascript twist to the page.

• One night I had a dream about the Seawall in Galveston. I used to live there, close to the ocean. I dreamed the seawall was alive, an ancient and proud GUARDIAN of the city. I awoke and this poem leaped into my head, and I wrote it down that morning.

• My first stab at a hyperpoem is White , a poem about colors, what they mean to people, and the power of diversity.
