Growing Up a Butterfly

The Egg

Many butterflies lay but a single egg. This characteristic is very unique in the Class Insecta. a group of animals who usually lay thousands of eggs at a sitting. Even more remarkable, it takes two of their kind to make but a single precious egg.

Cute and Fuzzy Friends

The egg hatches, and Emerging from its shell is a Playful, hungry and demanding creature known as the caterpillar. This energetic and voracious creature begins to feed on everything around it with joyous abandon.

Caterpillars have special charm, they are cute and fuzzy. They tickle as they inch their way along the edge of your finger.

"Who are you?" said the caterpillar
Alice replied rather shyly,
'I -- I hardly know,
Sir,
just at present --
at least I know who I was when I got up this morning,
but I think I must have changed several times since then.'"

Metamorphosis

No one fully understands what takes place in the cocoon...it is a mystery to scientists, caterpillars and butterflies alike. To some, it may seem ugly, but the cocoon is an incredible thing. Mysterious changes are happening within.

This must be a very stressful time to be a butterfly. Though great things are coming, this time is chaos, complete loss of identity.

Emergence

The being which entered bears no resemblance to that which now emerges. She is the most beautiful creature in all nature.
Some say that is the point the story ends, but it is really only the middle, or the beginning...you choose.

Revalation
of
Genesis

For every butterfly finds that one other, and they make one special egg.
